Meet Kristal

I'm a parent, educator, and local business owner and am delighted to have served on the GHAPS school board since 2022.

My husband Garry and I have two children in Grand Haven schools. We're active in our community, generous with our time and talent, and the proud owners of The Unicorn Tavern on Grand Haven's growing east end.

I'm a strong advocate of public schools, having worked as a student teacher, substitute teacher, and classroom teacher, most recently at Grand Haven's Central High School focused on helping struggling students achieve in the classroom. I hold a BA in education and a K-12 teaching certificate from Grand Valley State University. 

I was delighted to be appointed to GHAPS school board in 2022 and look forward to continuing my commitment to supporting educational excellence for all students and families in our district.
